Linkage of p-Algebras of non-prime degree

Résumé

Following a result of Lam’s on the linkage of quaternion algebras in characteristic 2, the speaker proved in 2015 that if two p-algebras of prime degree share a maximal purely inseparable subfield, then they share a maximal cyclic subfield. The question of how this extends to p-algebras of non-prime degree remained open for several years, but has been recently resolved. We shall discuss this generalization. This talk is based on joint work with Mathieu Florence and Kelly McKinnie.
